Our unique design solutions to common industry problems continued to make the news. 1980 - Namorada Ahead of her times by 18 years, the Namorada was built in 1980, yet her exceptional capabilities earned her Boat of the Month in 1998.

The industry was abuzz with talk of KMC's Halo vessel The Order of Magnitude for decades. With an innovative, aerodynamic, fold-down mast, and an incredible 3000 hp gas turbine engine which drove a hydro-jet propelling her to unheard of speeds of 54mph, or 49 knots, (unladen) The Order of Magnitude became a legend of the industry. To improve the Alaska fishing industry, KMC ventured into the forefront of fish processing technology, and again made widspread headlines. In the process, they still built vessels such as the Wild Salmon, a processing vessel converted from a military landing craft. |
Shifting gears once again alongside our evolving industry, KMC began drafting, building, and setting sail with several all-new, innovative designs, such as Seiners that also run dual-duty as popular and exceptionally capable Tenders. Liahona IV- 2010 In 2010, KMC completed the Liahona, the first of a new line of limit seiners which have been designed with the latest in 3D CAD tech. The story was featured in a National Fisherman article.
2013 - The Whitey W. KMC Built the Whitey W, named after Captain Ray's father's childhood moniker earned by his white-blond hair. The vessel was, ironically, Black.
2016 - The Cumorah The Liahona was followed by the Cumorah, a revamped sister boat to the Liahona.
